Living in the digital age, do we as consumers have situations that we need to worry about and fear?
The core focus of this infographic is how digital media is transforming globally to influence users, and how privacy is maintained when conducting online transactions. The main aspect that will be discussed is how Android users and digital marketers can manage privacy without getting in the way of doing business online. According to O'Rourke's 2019 research, digital ad spending per internet user worldwide has reached $50 (O'Rourke, 2019).
This infographic will significantly increase awareness and education of individuals on ensuring online privacy. The target audience will be digital marketers and Android users, a large percentage globally. Opportunities exist in society, especially when it comes to analytics. However, if the privacy of online information is a concern, there are entirely different risks. Notable recent risks include the theft of 117 million passwords of LinkedIn customers and the theft of the Social Security numbers and names of approximately 26.5 million veterans in the United States through the Veterans Administration (Bauer et al., 2020).
The technical aspects include searching large data engines, storing data, and collecting data when needed. Legal and social functions are designed to address data privacy concerns. Internet users in the United States conducted 4,497,420 Google searches in 2019. Personal data is identified as being mishandled online, extending the impact of privacy breaches beyond the boundaries of the network (Durnell et al., 2020). This mishandling is similar to what a 2022 study by Barth, de Jong, and Junger confirmed, 80% of smartphone users are concerned about personal data. Additionally, app downloads are on the rise despite multiple security concerns. By 2022, it could exceed 250 billion people (Barth, de Jong, and Junger, 2022).
